Oh yes I did...

Yes those are crystals.
And yes. They are GLUED

.
(GASP!)

I know that in some circles my actions may be seen as sacrelidge to lace, and I dare not bring such an item to the lace guild meeting....

.
But when one is given a hot-fix tool, one must use it! So I hot fixed some bling on a tatted medallion for a pendant.

May the lace gods forgive me and look favorably upon my work.

  1. Almost looks like an oreo cookie with the icing showing through a little. Hope this does not upset you - must be hungry when I first saw it. Thanks for your inspiration - Robert Kent, in northern Iowa.

  2. I say if it looks pretty, it's allowed. That is very pretty, and I'm sure it's even better in person.

  4. Hahahaaaaa....I am NOT calling it the oreo pendant, thank you very much! Lol!

The thread is black, I think it appears brown in the picture but now that the suggestion has been made I think of cookies every time I look at it!

  5. Hello Krystle,

In Malaysia, we put hot-fix, iron-on bling on just about everything: sleeves, necklines, scarves. So I'd say you are not being sacrilegious, just exotic :)

  6. GLUED? Naughty, naughty girl but WHAT a good idea to see how it looks!!! Now do I need a glue gun? Yup, one day!!!! I guess the 'bling' can be added as you go if you want to? Not a lot of point if it's not going to be worn, though.

  8. Ha! I knew Jane would have something to say!

I added all of the jewels at the end. The hot tool melts the glue on the jewels, and from what I understand they are permanent with hand washing recomended if they are used on garments. I figure Jewelry won't take the abuse of washing....I think they would make lovely centers for flowers on hairclips.

  9. Great idea! We add beads why no jewels?
