Whoopsie!

Mary Konior, Lacelovinlibrarian, and Steph would all understand my pain.

Sigh. It was supposed to be another spinning wheel. In size 80. Ten points if you spot the reason I had to cut this piece off and start again. Steph, the queen of skinny threads, do you ever bother to unpick at that size? Ugh.

I'm sorry this happened ... I did the same thing but not in size 80. :-(

I do feel your pain! I've made that same mistake many times myself, just not in size 80! My eyes aren't good enough to retro-tat the finer threads. In size 20 HDT, you bet I'd be unpicking! Too bad you really need those picots in order to tat the next set of rings and chains! Better luck next time!

I find it rather hard to pick out size 80, so it would depend on how far I was into the pattern.

Having never (yet) tatted a spinning wheel, I am taking a stab in the dark, but could the reason be that your 3-3-3-3 chain is facing the wrong way?

I feel your anguish. My last tat in size 80 needed to be unpicked a few times. But retro-tatting is worth it in the end.

Looking forward to reading Steph's (the queen of skinny threads)response.

Ohhhh, I DO know! That hanky border that I have been working on FOREVER is tatted in DMC #80. I believe I have spent as much time re-tatting as I have doing it the first time, thus the hours and hours and hours and hours of tedium. Never again... till the next time!

You are so brave to have attempted the spinning wheel in such tiny thread. I found #20 to be challenging, especially that last round!

Ten Points for Diane! Yes, I left a picot and four stitches off the chains I'd need to join the next layer of rings too.

I'm dropping by to ~ yes ~ complain. I can't read the black print on the brown background. Booo Hooo that's me in the corner, snifflin'
But I love to read your blog (strain, strain) Did you miss a picot on the cut out part? I'm one of the masochist that unpick fine threads....
The woodgrain is pretty, but hides the black print.
hugs, Bev

Sorry Bev! The black shows quite well on my screen, thank you for letting me know that it doesn't work for you though. is white any better?

I feel your pain. I've done the same thing with small thread and went ahead and picked it out. It was very time-consuming but in the end, I'm glad I did. The piece eventually turned out very nice.
