I've had a thought to dye some matching solids when I do new varigated/multicolored threads. Are any of you interested in that? And if you were to purchase them, would you prefer to pick and choose them separately, or would you perhaps be interested in a color set that would include a varigated plus a few matching solids offered at a discount as a set?
I really appreciate your feedback as I formulate future dye projects.

A color set would be a great idea. To keep prices reasonable and not make too much extra work for you, one variegated plus two complementary solids would be sufficient, I think. The set could include three solids if it's a particularly vivid colorway.
Btw, love love love the sunflower necklace.
I love coordinating solids. :-)
Well, I like having things as a set. Sometimes it's difficult for me to select colors that go well together, so things that are available as a package, I really like those.
I like sets too; although if its from the same lot and are solids that match colourway, I can choose how many skeins I want of the solids. I usually order a minimum of 3 if they are available. So, I'm undecided. Isn't THAT a great help? LOL

This past year I have been focusing on learning how to use color to its best advantage in my tatting.
At first I thought the answer to all color issues was to pair a matching solid with a variegated. But I am learning that this is not a cure-all or a hard-fast rule.
My advice is to dye what you love and tat what you love. If you have a colorway you keep coming back to, a matching solid will expand your design possibilities. (But you know this already, you clever lass!)
Your sunflower is so stunning and you have done brilliantly with your tatting and dying so far. Trust your instincts.
While I love a bargain, I have to agree with Isdihara.
