Opinions?

In light of recent sales, I'm needing to order some more packaging supplies, which of course got me thinking. I wonder if I should get some earring cards because I will possibly be doing a small craft show this year. So, that got me thinking some more. What if I made some!
You see, I dabble in many a craft. And my absolute favorite thing is when supplies or equipment from one craft transfer to another.....thus further justifying the purchase of said item. My large clipboard that I use in doing calligraphy is the perfect size for wrapping skeins of thread. And now, my precious Cricut has earned it's place in tatting significance! As well as my modest selection of scrapbooking papers.

I've cut some four inch tall tag-thingies and made them into fancy earring cards. Previously I had been packing the earrings in those small cotton filled jewelry boxes, and I decorated each one. I really want a personal touch added to each order, and I like the items to arrive giftable. So I think this idea might work-- if I pack these small cards in a bubble mailer or a photo mailer they should fare well through the postal service. The problem I was having with the little boxes was that I either had to drive to Seattle or wait for an order to make it to me when I ran out. This way I have the materials available and I can still tailor each to coordinate with the item inside.

So, your opinions are requested on the new packaging concept. Dr. V is just happy to have something to work on while waiting for her laboratory supplies to arrive.

In my opinion Dick York was a MUCH better Darren Stevens than Dick Sargent.

I KNEW you didn't just want any old RANDOM opinions, but I could not resist!

I like your new packaging concept VERY much!!! My only question is whether the flaps fold fairly flat with the earrings in place? I was thinking that if that was a problem you could add a space between the three cards to provide more room. Sort of like a matchbook cover has two folds to fit it around the matches.

You could also put your logo from your card on the inside cover like jewelers put their name on the inside of the box!

I'm TOTALLY with you on loving it when crafts collide - I suddenly feel very thrifty and farsighted, like I knew all along!

Well thank you Ann. You snarky snarkington!

Lol, anywho. It folds fairly flat surprisingly. I do like your thought though. If I have anythingthat requires it, I would do your treatment and add that extra fold. you are genious :-)

OR you could mount them on your business cards; kill 2 birds with one stone. Those would fit in soft padded envelopes for mailing.
just a thought. Bev

That is so neat! It looks great. Also, the packaging design is original. You wouldn't normally expect to see earrings when you open it. It's like it's own card. If you put another piece of paper on one of the sides, the person can personalize it and gift it just like that!

I think you've come up with a very creative way to wrap/display your earrings. Plus incorporate you business card inside the tag.

That looks really cool! I like the idea of coordinating the packaging to the item. I, also, like that it all folds up around the earrings. Slipping the whole thing into it's own envelope might be over-kill, but it'd make it very giftable that way, & if you made the envelope with a space where the giver could write a note to the recipient... Yeah, I'd better stop there. LOL!

I like Bev's idea. Expanding on it: to me, simple is always best and SHOULD be economically smart. So, you might get your card printed a bit larger, if the cost works, just for the earrings. That would save on buying paper and worrying about fit. Mails easily too.

How odd that our crafts meld into one another....I love it!
If you keep this up, I think your craft show will be a major hit!

Love that packaging idea! It's so neat and simple, and above all, mailable. And it's a good feeling to be able to make your own packaging and not worry about running out.
