"Lacy"

Admittedly, I have a love for vintage things. Especially jewelry and rinestones. So you can imagine my delight when on of the kids' Grandmas brought me a broken thinestone necklace wondering if I could do something with it.
Oh yes I can!

I cut it apart for the good bits, and I made a bracelet, and I repurposed the center of the necklace as well. It needs some silver chain to be complete.
So this of course sent me off on another tangent....scouring antique shops, ebay, and even etsy for rhinestone things I can use to make new jewelry for the shop. I'm too fond of these to let them go, but I found a great sale on etsy and bought a load of sworovski components to play with.
Anyway, to explain the post title, these pieces came out more "lacy" looking than most of my Jewelry designs. Sometimes I forget that tatting is actually making lace lol! I do tend to lean toward more modern shapes and colors, but this new direction is intriguing! I need some ecru thread now....(never thought I'd say that!).

That is a BEAUTIFUL bracelet! The tatting looks like jewelry settings- besides being lovely, it looks sturdy and well made.

The bracelet is perfect with the little rhinestones! The pendant, too. Nice job of up-cycling!! (clapping)

I love the idea, Strange you would post it now. I was cleaning out old Jewelry and there was some rhinestone jewelry in it. I have an Antique dealer coming over in the morning to sale some of it. I did keep a couple of pieces out to see what I could do with it. Then I found your post. Thanks

Whenever I see Jane we go in search of old jewelry, we are constantly on the look out for beads etc. Its amazing how ceative you can be with beads and tatting, yours are really lovely and when you wear them they will be promoting tatting - what could be better!

Who would have ever thought these pieces of jewelry would look so good again! You do nice work. What do you have in mind with Ecru thread? I think Ecru with some colored Swarovski beads would be gorgeous. Please post whatever you do with the Swarovskis!

Clever Lass. You know I love antique jewelry too! LOL Come to think of it some of MY jewelry is vintage (like me, I forget that I'm old)

I also love the ear rings you sent to me. I will wear them with my black dress to granddaughter's graduation. I was looking for something simple that would not overwhelm the dress itself. And these are perfect. Thank you soooo much!

I've eyeballed some old jewelry that has 'useable' stones and pieces in them ~ and thought of tatting. And, have you also noticed that some of the settings look quite 'lacy' and might work up into tatting motif? B
